History Of Aloe VeraAloe vera has been used since very early times for many different curative purposes. The mucilaginous gel from the leaf pulp is a popular contemporary folk remedy, with many extravagant claims being made about the medicinal properties of aloe. Modern clinical use of aloe vera gel began in the 1930's. It was reportedly used to successfully treat x-ray and radium burns. Further studies using laboratory animals were done, however much of the work suffered from poor experimental design, and test sample sizes that were too small. |
