Aloe Vera JuiceAloe Vera juice is made from the inner part of the fleshy leaf of the aloe plant. Aloe Vera juice may ease heartburn, ulcers, diverticular disorders, and other types of digestive upset. Juice from the Aloe Vera gel seems to have anti-inflammatory effects, and the Aloe Vera juice can be taken internally as a remedy for certain digestive complaints. European folk medicine calls for using aloe vera juice to relieve heartburn and ulcers.While there is not a lot of evidence for these internal uses, preliminary research in Japan has shown promising results. In one study, 17 of 18 patients had relief of peptic ulcers after taking aloe vera juice. However, this was not a controlled study using placebos, so effectiveness could not be determined. It is possible that certain compounds in aloe vera juice reduce the secretion of stomach juices and the formation of lesions. Calcium propionate is used as a mold inhibitor in key dietary aloe vera holistic therapy for treating various infections. Some products that include "aloe vera extract" or "reconstituted aloe vera" may be much less potent than pure (more than 98%) aloe vera. Be sure to read the label on any aloe product to see if aloe vera is one of the first few ingredients listed. |
